Finding your size
Four tip sizes come in every box. Most people land on M. Getting this right is the difference between an earplug that works and one that sits in a drawer.
Start here
- Fit the M tip first. Pull the top of your ear up and back, push the plug in gently, then let go.
- Sound should drop noticeably the moment it seats. If it does not, the tip is too small — go up a size.
- Lie down on that side. If you can feel the plug pressing, the tip is too big — go down a size.
Reading the signs
| What you notice | What it means |
|---|---|
| Falls out in the night | Tip too small — go up one size |
| Ear aches in the morning | Tip too big, or pushed in too far |
| Barely muffles anything | Not seated. Take it out, pull the ear up and back, try again |
| One ear fine, one ear not | Normal. Ears are not symmetrical — use different sizes |
Two ears, two sizes
Most people have one ear canal slightly wider than the other. There is nothing wrong with running an M on one side and an L on the other — it is the most common fix we send people.
Cleaning
Rinse under warm water, shake off, air dry fully before the case goes shut. No alcohol, no boiling water, no dishwasher — all three harden silicone. Replace a tip when it feels stiff, tacky or has a nick in it.
When not to use them
Do not use if you have an ear infection, a perforated eardrum, grommets, or pain in the ear. These are not a medical device and are not hearing protection for power tools, firearms or industrial noise. Keep away from children under three.
